Lagos Life App Download Guide: Play Free on Any Device

If you've been scrolling through X (Twitter) lately, you've probably seen friends posting screenshots from a viral game set in Lagos, Nigeria — and wondered how to get in on it. Here's the good news: the Lagos Life app download process is simpler than you might think, because there technically isn't a traditional app to download at all. Lagos Life is a free-to-start browser game, credited by its official stats page to creator Shalom Rayhamen, and it works on both your phone and your laptop. In this guide, you'll learn exactly how to install it as a home-screen app on Android and iPhone, what to expect once you log in, and how to avoid fake APK sites in the process.

Is There an Official Lagos Life App Download?

Let's clear up the biggest misconception right away. As of October 2026, the verified way to play Lagos Life is through its official website at lagoslife.app — no app-store listing or APK is required. Community guides that track the game's web-app configuration have confirmed the browser version works, but they have not verified any separate official APK, Google Play, or App Store listing.

That matters for two reasons:

• Safety: Unofficial "Lagos Life APK" files floating around third-party sites are not verified and could contain malware.
• Updates: The browser version updates automatically. The game's creator reportedly pushes new features and map additions frequently, so the web version is always current.

The game's popularity is hard to overstate. Community reports from players note that the game hit roughly 11.7 million page visits, with around 101,000 players online simultaneously at the time of one popular walkthrough video — and around 200,000 guests reportedly joined on launch day alone.

Browser vs. Installed Web App: What's the Difference?

Either way, you'll need an internet connection — offline gameplay has not been verified by any official source.

How to Install Lagos Life on Android

Installing the Lagos Life web app on Android takes under a minute using Chrome. Follow these steps, which mirror Google's official web-app documentation:

No install option showing up? Don't worry — some Android versions simply offer a shortcut instead. The label and behavior vary by Chrome version, but the game itself works identically either way.

How to Add Lagos Life on iPhone

iPhone users need Safari, because Apple's home-screen installation only works through the Share menu:

Can't find the Add to Home Screen option? Scroll to the bottom of the Share actions, tap Edit Actions, and add it to your list. Once installed, the icon behaves like a regular app — full screen, no browser bars.

What Happens After You Sign Up?

Once your Lagos Life app download (or web-app install) is done, creating an account is straightforward. Player walkthroughs describe a sign-up flow that asks for a name, username, and password — email is optional — plus confirmation that you're 18 or older.

Then comes the fun part: character creation and your starting life roll.

Many players intentionally choose the hard route — starting in a "face-me-I-face-you" apartment with student life — because grinding from nothing is half the appeal. Either way, you'll manage core needs like hunger, energy, fun, social, and hygiene, each shown as a percentage you keep topped up.

What Can You Actually Do in the Game?

Lagos Life is often compared to The Sims, but its Nigerian setting gives it a personality no Western life-sim matches. Based on community reports and the official site, here's a sample of what the map and phone menu offer:

The Governor Election system deserves special mention: per the official site, terms run weekly, polls close at 8 PM on Sundays, and winners earn a ₦25,000 daily stipend. Voting happens in person at a Polling Unit, and elected officials' policies genuinely change what players pay across the city.

You can also grab a 100-naira cab to any landmark, order food delivery, buy event tickets, go on boat cruises, hit the gym, visit UniLag, or invite friends with a personal referral link. If you want to skip the grind, a top-up option reportedly converts real naira into game currency — one cited example: ₦20,000 for ₦1.6 million in-game.

Tips for a Smooth First Session

• Work your job on schedule. Shifts run one hour, five days a week, and your in-game salary compounds quickly — house officer roles reportedly pay ₦21,000 per hour.
• Level coding before touching ATMs. Hacking without skill leads to arrest, and bail costs can run into millions of naira.
• Use cabs. At ₦100 per ride, they're the cheapest way to keep your hunger and fun meters full.
• Build friends early. Other players can send you money requests if you land in trouble — like bail.
• Bookmark or install the web app so you never fat-finger a fake mirror site.
